In Armenia, surrogacy procedures can be performed by married heterosexual couples and single women.
Armenia has allowed surrogacy since 2002.
The intended mother cannot be 53 years of age or older. Therefore, it is advisable not to start the process after 51 years of age.
Egg and sperm donors may not be anonymous. But in such a case, in addition to the surrogacy contract between the intended parents and the surrogate mother, it is necessary to sign a donation contract between the intended parents and the sperm/egg donor,
Both the donation contract and the surrogacy contract must be signed before a notary public.
In the surrogacy process in ARMENIA we do not obtain a court order but a birth certificate with a waiver of safe passage home. The child will come in the name of the father, and the intended mother will have to adopt the child, once in the country of origin of the parents.

ARMENIA is a country with only 2.9 million inhabitants, of which 64.5% are ethnic Kazakhs, 22.3% Russians and 13.2% other ethnicities. The Kazakh ethnicity is a mixture of primitive Turkic and Mongolian tribes. Sixty percent of the population is Muslim, which makes surrogacy unlikely. This makes it difficult to find Kazakh surrogates.
Although Armenia is a secular constitutional state, the Christian faith plays a central role in its history and in the identity of the Armenian people.
97.9% of the population is considered ethnic Armenian. Yazidis constitute 1.3%, and Russians 0.5%. Other minorities include Assyrians, Ukrainians, Greeks, Kurds, Georgians, and Belarusians. There are also small communities of Vlachs, Mordvins, Ossetians, Udi, and Tats. There are also minorities of Poles and Caucasian Germans, although they suffered forced in Soviet times. During the Soviet era, Azeris were historically the second largest population in the country (about 10% in 1939.88.) However, due to hostilities with neighboring Azerbaijan in the disputed Upper Karabakh region, virtually all of them emigrated from Armenia. On the contrary, Armenia received a large influx of Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan, thus giving an Armenian population of homogeneous character. According to the United Nations Population Fund the population in Armenia will decrease.
Donors are also from the country, and if we want a more Caucasian phenotype, we must use a donor from another country, which increases the cost of a program.

Our staff will assist you in our office in Yerevan, Armenia in your language. In a process where legal issues are mixed with medical issues, it is important to speak the same language and understand each other. With Gestlife, you will never feel like a stranger in a foreign country.
It is something that seems obvious, but with some agencies, you are lucky to speak to an advisor in your language. As soon as you sign the contract, the rest of the staff most likely does not speak English, and you have to have a translator. Make sure if you talk to other agencies that this doesn’t happen. A year and a half (the length of the surrogacy process) having to speak in other languages is very stressful.
